RACE DAY  - Sunday, September 19, 2004

10K 12:00 - Start & Finish at the Old Town Square

The WARR Race takes place in conjunction with the Mattoni Grand Prix

5K  01:30 - Start & Finish at the Old Town Square

Both races start and finish at the Old Town Square.  The course is a 5km loop through the historical city center, leading across and along the banks of the river Vitava, under the spectacular panorama of a beautiful Prague castle.  A music festival (PIM Prague International Marathon serenade) taking place along the course will make this a truly impressive and extraordinary event for WARR 2004 participants and spectators.  Take a look at some pictures in the photo gallery at PIM: www.pim.cz.   WARR participants running in the 10K will have a great experience running along side world-class runners in the Mattoni Grand Prix.   Past winners in the Mattoni Grand Prix have included Haile Gebrselassie (ETH) in 2001 with a time of 28:07 (rec.) and Paul Tergat (KEN) in 1997, 1998, and 2002 with a time of 28:14.  The Chip-Winning time ranking system will be used for time keeping.

HOTELS - ACCOMMODATIONS

Where To Stay: The Old Town Square a major tourist area will be the center of action, with the PIM Expo Tents being part of the WARR Registration and Race Packet pick-up area, a two-minute walk to the U ROTTA Restaurant the WARRtering Hole (hospitality room).  WARRiors will be visiting Prague in September, the top tourist season, with the advantage of the best weather conditions throughout the year and the disadvantage of an oversold hotel capacity.  Therefore, it is IMPORTANT to make your reservation, at least for the WARR days (16-19 Sep), as soon as possible.  For your convenience, the CSA team has put together a list of available hotels in different budget ranges.  The 3 travel agencies that hold the options for the chosen Hotels are listed below.  The travel agencies will keep the capacity and prices for WARRiors until June 30 ONLY!  After that date, accommodation will be subject to availability only and experience from the past year would indicate that hotel prices will escalate for this “top tourist” period – So please don’t wait too long and risk being “homeless” in Prague!

The list of hotels and reservation contacts are available at: http://www.worldairlineroadrace.org
